IoT, Edge Computing and Wind Turbines – Welcome to Tech Show North

Prolific North Tech Awards

Last week was the first ever Tech Show North, a new conference for the North’s thriving technology sector – and Hark were Event Partners!

The show took place over two days, the 8th and 9th of May at Event City, Manchester. Exhibitors included global tech giants, as well as businesses and organisations a little closer to home.

Check out our video round-up of the event!

Our stand was far from static, with a 3D Hologram Fan and moving wind turbines that could be controlled by the Hark Platform in real-time. People no longer want to be spectators – they want to be participants. Our interactive stand provided visitors with a fresh, new experience by putting them in the driver’s seat and allowing them to experience the world of data.

As well as being drawn in by our exhibition stand, people were also intrigued by how the Hark Platform can be used in retail, following our CEO’s talk on ‘IoT in Retail – The Age of the Smart Supermarket’. More info on that here.

Mike Fay from our partners at Dell spoke about IoT Edge Computing and the starting points of managing your data.

“Edge computing is driving new class of distributed and decentralised architecture concepts and only the companies driving innovations to optimise for this will win in the long term”.

To add to the success of the event, we were extremely honoured to have received the Prolific North Innovation award for the work we undertake with our Hark Platform at the Tech Awards.
