Preparing your Data

Hark’s Meter Readings module accepts half hourly energy data in a few different formats. In this guide you’ll learn how to prepare your data to get the most out of it. It should save you time too! ⏱️

We currently only accept CSV or ZIP files.

You may insert several meters into one CSV file (marked by different id’s) or upload a ZIP folder containing several datasets. This saves you concatenating many datasets and helps to save space.

If you do upload a ZIP folder, the CSV files in it must be in the same format.

If you’re uploading row data with headres then the header names must be named as below, “id”, “timestamp”, and “value” – column order does not matter though!

row data with headers

If you do not use header labels then column order does matter. Please put your id/MPAN in the first column, the timestamp in the second, and the value in the third:

If your data is in a column format and you are using header labels then please use “id” and “date” to mark the appropriate data. The order of “id” and “date” is not important, however, they should then be followed by a further 48 columns containing your half-hourly consumption metrics. i.e (1 represents 00:00, 2 represents 00:30 and so on).

If you are not using headers, then please put the id/MPAN in the first column, the date in the second, and then the 48 columns containing half-hourly consumption data.
