Alarm Types

An Alarm Type refers to a specific category or classification that identifies the nature of the Alarms being opened by a given Alarm Rule. This allows you to quickly understand what aspect of your system is affected and why.

Some example Alarm Types could be:

  • HighTemperature
  • LossOfCommunication
  • LowPower
  • LowVoltage

You will need to configure at least one Alarm Type before you can create an Alarm Rule. You can create new Alarm Types by navigating to the Alarms Settings area.

You can also use this area to remove Alarm Types that are no longer needed.

Note: Deleting a type will prevent it from being used in the creation of new Alarm Rules. However, existing Alarm Rules that reference the deleted type will continue to apply it to any raised Alarms. If this is not the desired behavior, you'll need to edit or archive these rules manually.
