BACnet Discovery
The Hark Platform features a BACnet device discovery wizard for finding and reading properties from BACnet devices.
Below are some instructions for creating a model and configuring which properties should be read from a device and, if applicable, also turned into time-series data.
In the Hark Platform, navigate to Analytics in the nav-bar and press the + button by the search bar.
From here, you can click discover device and enter the location and gateway you’d like to discover associated devices for. This will open the adapter drop-down menu, where you can select from any adapters installed on that gateway.
This page will now be populated with BACnet devices that are available on the network. Next you’ll need to select the device you want to discover:
All device objects will be listed out on the next screen, select any objects you’d like to add to your model.
Next you’ll need to create your model by entering the location, group (optional), icon, model ID and model name.
In order to get time-series data from your devices you’ll need to create sensors for any of the objects you selected earlier.
Your new model will now be available in the hierarchy, which you can view by navigating to the area you saved it to. You’ll also see a full summary of the model you’ve now created.
In the navigation bar you can click into your model to start viewing your device data. You can also click “view model” in the bottom right of the summary page.
Here you can view all of your model data:
